Vocational Computer Training

Through our computer training programme last year 42 students got training and job. This programme is supported by ANUDIP FOUNDATION.  It is job oriented training namely MAST (market allied skill training). Officially it is called livelihood initiative through a knowledge programme to support the underprivileged youth of the villages. We began providing vocational training of TAILORING AND BEAUTICIANS COURSES to trafficked women and girls of our area.   The aims of this program are to provide vocational training to women who have been trafficked, and to enable them to generate income for themselves and their families in their own communities without needing to migrate to work and thus become vulnerable to being trafficked.

Training is provided in skills such as weaving, sewing and handicraft production, with an emphasis on traditional products. Education on basic rights is also given to the trainees.

Awareness Raising on Trafficking:

KEYA organizes regular outreach to raise awareness about trafficking among the communities inside the village. KEYA has also produced  awareness raising song CDs, leaflet, wall writing and posters aimed at preventing trafficking, and distributing them among local communities in cooperating together with local community network groups.

The programme of KATAKHALI EMPOWERMENT & YOUTH ASSOCIATION aims to make a significant impact on women in traditional sectors by upgrading skills and providing employment to such women on a project basis by mobilizing women in viable groups, improving skills, arranging for productive assets, creating backward and forward linkages, improving/arranging for support services, providing access to credit, awareness generation, gender sensitization, nutrition education, sensitization of project functionaries. Thus, KATAKHALI EMPOWERMENT & YOUTH ASSOCIATION advocates an integrated package of inputs aiming at the integrated development of poor women in traditional sectors.
